What a year it’s been! From the first strawberry to the last of the pumpkins, the farm and shop have been alive with activity. We’ve seen so many familiar faces week after week, and welcomed plenty of new ones too. There’s nothing quite like hearing about your Sunday roast or dinner party plans!
Our highlights
🌱 Spring: We welcomed our first lambs of the year, and you flocked to meet the new faces. This is our highlight every year – educating the community about farming and agriculture, and sharing the joy of new life.
🍓Summer: The farm shop buzzed with activity! We introduced bees from Jack at Strides Honey to our soft fruit plants who pollinated strawberries and raspberries all season. It was especially exciting to have the honey made from our own bees on the shelves in the shop – it really doesn’t get more local than that.
🎃Autumn: Watching children choose pumpkins for Halloween is always a joy. We appreciate everyone who joined our pumpkin carving competition, and everyone who voted for their winners for our staff contest!
❄️Winter: And here we are! We received a huge number of Christmas orders this year, and we are grateful for our customers who chose to shop locally and sustainably for their festive feast this year. We made nearly 5,000 pigs in blankets this month!
Running a farm shop is never boring, and we’ve been working hard to source even more local products, reduce our environmental impact, and find new ways to bring you the freshest, finest produce. Your feedback and suggestions have been invaluable – please do keep them coming.
We’re already making exciting plans for the new year! We’ll be introducing some new seasonal products, hosting a few special events (watch this space!), and continuing to do what we do best – bringing you honest, local food with a smile.
